Dr. Ximena Perez-Velazco is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Action Research Center for Health Equity at the University of California, San Francisco, focusing on food insecurity and nutrition equity. She earned her PhD in Nutrition from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in July 2024, where her dissertation addressed social marketing interventions to promote SNAP use among college students.

Ximena, with a B.Sc. in Human Nutrition from Winthrop University, has extensive experience in research and project management from her roles at the UNC Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention. She has managed projects on student needs and social marketing, contributed to research grants, and has published in The Journal of Hunger & Environmental Nutrition and Social Marketing Quarterly. Additionally, she has served as a Teaching Assistant and guest lecturer at UNC Chapel Hill and is actively involved with the Nutrition & Obesity Policy Research & Evaluation Network (NOPREN).
