Improving Food Security Through Policy-Driven Research

The Seligman Research Lab at UCSF's Center for Vulnerable Populations is committed to creating communities where healthy food is affordable and easily accessible by everyone. Led by Hilary Seligman, MD MAS, the team conducts strategic research focused on policies and programs impacting the food environment and food affordability. Their work is at the forefront of documenting food and nutrition insecurity as major drivers of poor health and of implementing and evaluating programs and policies to address food insecurity as a mechanism to improve health. The Seligman Research Lab is primarily focused on research and program operations in the following areas.
